THE NEW DAY

13 12 2011

The sun comes up, its a new day dawning

Its time to sing your song again

Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me

Let me be singing when the evening comes.

These words are  in the song “10,000 Reasons,” by Matt Redman.  What any day will bring, no one knows.  However,  it is another day God has given each one of us.  The slate is clean .  How will I use it?  What will I do?  How will I react to situations?  What people will come across my path?

Whatever the answers are to these questions, two verses come to mind.

Hebrews 3:13.  For as long as it is still God’s Today, keep each other on your toes so sin doesn’t slow down your reflexes.  (The Message)

Galatians 6:9.  So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good.  At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up or quit.  (The Message)

There are so many things we can do to be a helpful, encourager to people.  If anything is needed today, it  is to lift others up in whatever way we can.  This was my main objective  in writing  this blog, to give help and encouragement for those in need.  It is so easy in our world to be negative and run individuals or groups into the ground.  Our verses today say just the opposite.  They say let us stay alert, not getting weary of doing good.  Jesus promised that if we do these things, 1) Our efforts will be rewarded if we keep going and,  2) We will be an encouragement to one another and help to keep our lives on the right track as well!   Ask God what can you do today to be an encourager?  If you are sincere in this prayer, you will hear his voice speaking in ways you never dreamed of!  TODAY, find at least one person to help, either by doing something tangible, giving words of encouragement, saying I love you, I’m sorry, I forgive you, or most importantly, pray for them!  This may be the most powerful way in which you can help.
