John 15:18-19     If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, therefore the world hates you.

I John 3:13           Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hates you.

Recently, friends and even family loved ones have told me, “Be careful how you talk about religion because it is polarizing and some of our friends are offended.” Well, I am not talking about religion here, but a RELATIONSHIP. It is a RELATIONSHIP with JESUS as a personal Saviour in a life!

Acts 4:12 proclaims, “Neither is there Salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”  This is a very unpopular stand today, because the belief is that there are many roads to heaven and that you do not want to offend anyone with the belief that JESUS is the ONLY way. I do not wish to offend or condemn anyone, but as for me this is my stand. If you have studied and concluded that another viable way exists, that is fine. You, like me, have the right to believe in the way you have chosen.

However, the path of believing I have chosen to follow is not polarizing. It is the NAME of JESUS that is polarizing and yes, is devisive—always has been and always will be. You and I have been given the free will to choose to claim the Name of Jesus or not but as for me, I choose Jesus!

As far as speaking of Jesus and praising His name, I find a great answer in Luke 19:39-40. His followers were praising Him and the Pharisees said to Jesus, “Teacher, get your disciples under control”. Jesus said to the Pharisees, “If they keep quiet, the stones would do the praise for them”. This is the reason I praise and talk about my Saviour for all the world to hear. I pray for more boldness to do it more and more in the remaining time He has given me in this life!

All I have to do is watch the News on television or read a newspaper to see what is happening in the World. Most of the events are not good and I am left thinking, what will happen next?

When I become increasingly concerned, I am told by the following Bible verse that I am not to worry,  because Jesus is in complete control! The outcome of what will happen ultimately in and to the world has already been determined.

John 16:33 says, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace.  In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

The final result of all the problems, evil and seemingly no end to wickedness is this………JESUS WINS!! ….and I am already on the WINNING team because of HIM! Thanks and praise be to GOD for HIS promises and care in this troubled world.

Hi Everyone! I have not written recently but I want to share the following. I found it while going through my files. What is said, sums out who I am . I am not perfect, I am a man—-saved by the Grace of God! As Philippians 3:14 says, “I press toward the mark for the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed, I have the Holy Spirits power. The die has been cast, I have stepped over the line, a disciple of His. I won’t look back, slow down, back away or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I am finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now lean by faith on His presence, walk by patience, lifted by prayer, labor by power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven. My road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my guide reliable. My vision is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity or meander in the maze of mediocrity, I won’t give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go til He comes, give til I drop, preach til everyone hears about Jesus and work til He stops me. When He comes for His own He will have no problem recognizing me for ny banner will be clear.

Dear Father, help me to remember who I am and who YOU ARE!  By the power of your Holy Spirit indwelling me, ALL things are possible!Amen

Yesterday was an especially beautiful day in Boca Raton, Florida! My wife and I went to the beach to enjoy the soft breezes, azure blue skies and the ocean. As we were enjoying the view, it came to our minds anew, HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD, who has created this for us to enjoy. It also brought the thought to mind, Isaiah 40:12: “Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand?” Just the fact that God can hold the waters of the Earth in His palm testifies to His greatness.

As if that experience was not enough, later after sunset, I saw the glory of His creation in the sky with the uncountable stars. The planets, Venus and Jupiter also framed the quarter moon in the Western sky and Mars was rising in the East with its orange glow. Directly above my head was the majestic constellation, Orion, with the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, not far behind! Again, what a witness to God, the Creator! Psalm 8:3-4 says, “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars, you have ordained; what is man, that you even think of him?

All I can say is that You are a Great God, the Supreme Creator, and to think that You love me and call me Your friend! Thank you for this awesome truth! To You and You alone is due the highest praise and thanks!

GALATIANS  5:22-26   (From the Message Bible Translation)

“What happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. This means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original!”

What if I really believed these verses? Would there be a difference in how I viewed my family, friends, relationships, neighborhood, country and world?  I believe in the power of one! How about you?

Today was the Birthday of my my Father, Harvey W. Morgan.  Although He went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, many years ago, his memory is still fresh in my mind.

Memories of my Dad are endless!  He was a faithful husband to my dear Mom for fourty-nine years and together they raised six children, which I am the youngest. Providing for his family was his priority. He worked as a full-time custodian in a very large church in Detroit, Michigan and then would come home, eat supper and then go to a second job necessary to support his family. He was loved and respected by his employers and fellow workers. He had a fantastic sense of humor. I know this because for three years while I was in college, I worked with him at the church. He was my boss, as well as my Dad! He taught me how to work and give my best no matter what the task. I also saw how he related to people, treating them with fairness, love and compassion. Many homeless people would stop at the church and they did not leave without a little of his money, food and a word about how Jesus loved them. He even formed a basketball team of neighborhood kids who he let play in the gymnasium of the church. He nicknamed the team, “Harvey’s Aces.” Most of all, however, what characterized my Dad was his love for Jesus. He raised his children to honor the Lord, read His Word, love and take care of one another. Those he encountered in his work also knew of his love for Jesus. He gave his testimony as to what Jesus had done for him to all who would listen and to some who even didn’t want to listen!

I could continue for many pages writing about Dad. He passed along many verses from the Bible to me but the one which sums up his life is , Micah 6:8.  “He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy. and to walk humbly with thy God.”

This verse sums it up about Dad and what he was about. Thank you, Dad, for your example and legacy. It is my prayer that I have and will continue to pass this along to my family.

As the new year begins, we no doubt have many goals which we hope to meet. What lies ahead for us?  Each of us will live and experience many things. I am sure we will seek to do our best, well aware that the final control of our lives is in God’s Hands.

Two verses come to mind as we begin our journey in 2012.  The first, Psalm 90:1, tells us that God has been our constant help in the past and this help will continue in the future. The second, Psalm 90:17, asks for the blessing of our God in what we do that He will be glorified. Psalm 90:1 (The Message)  God, it seems you’ve been our home forever, long before the mountains were born.  Long before you brought earth itself to birth, from “once upon a time” to “kingdom come”–you are God.

Psalm 90:17 (The Message) Let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, confirming the work we do. Oh, yes. Affirm the work that we do!

With the Eternal God as our guide and refuge, we go into this new year with full assurance that whatever we face, He will be with us. His Presence will be our constant guide and His Beauty will surround us. What greater promises could we have?
